"Her's Havin' A Baby!"

Yes, that is what a 5 year old screamed and pointed in my direction as I walked past her in the hallway today at work. It was great! Curt and I squeezed in a 38 week shot this morning before I headed off to school and I know you just LOVE my "Lakenheath Elementary School" Spirit Day shirt! Stylin'...
Thankfully it fits great so I was happy to sport that blue polo all day long. It's all about the comfort these days.

I have a doctors appointment this coming Monday to check and see if there is any progress goin' on...and to be honest, I'm praying there ISN'T! Not yet at least. The maternity ward on base isn't accepting labor and delivery patients starting this Monday through Friday of next week due to the moving of equipment to the new floor. Yes, that's right. BGD (Baby Girl Dougherty...still no name) is hopefully going to sit tight until this big move takes place! Here's to hoping!

It seems as though my 4 week stint at work is just about up! The new teacher is inbound, literally. She catches her flight tonight and hopes to be in processing on Monday with a start date of Tuesday. I'm so happy that I worked these past 4 weeks because it may have been the fastest 4 weeks of my entire pregnancy. Perfect timing I might say. I was told that the last month always seems to last a lifetime but in my case I think it was the exact opposite. I'm looking forward to veggin' out the next two weeks and just waiting for BGD to make her grand entrance.

Curt took his 8 hour "Dad's Class" today and I can't wait to hear how it went! I do know that they take the time to put diapers on baby dolls and swaddle them...so I think we all know I wish I were there to see that! Honestly, I'm sure he did great. He is in permanent "Dad Mode" and there's no turning back!

We'll be sure to keep you updated over the next few weeks....only a matter of time now!

"The Girl"

I'm totally loving this song. Short and Sweet. Oh, it's another one of Curt's favorites...I have no idea where he finds these random tunes. The group is called City and Colour. Enjoy!

From Grandma...

Well, I think it's safe to say that Grandma will always make sure the baby's are dressed to impress. Baby Girl Dougherty and Baby Boy Santillo have both received a new outfit. I'm thinking big photo opportunity in this get up. So CUTE! Strasburg Children dressed my sisters and I when we were little and obviously my Mom is making sure that tradition is passed on. Only a Grandma can justify putting infants in cashmere. I LOVE THEM!

Thanks Grandma!!!

37 Weeks!

Now that Curt is finally home we were able to take some pictures of me in all my pregnant glory as we get closer and closer to the BIG DAY. Yesterday marked the start of my 37th week...and boy do I look it. FYI: taking pictures at 6:30am before work don't usually turn out all that great, as you can see. That smile is a "hurry up and take it smile!". :)

I am still working and believe it or not, it's been great. The only thing I have to complain about is waking up in the morning, but I'm pretty sure I complained about this pre-pregnancy as well! The new teacher should be arriving early next week and I'm sure by that point I will be eager to get out.

I don't have my next doctor's appointment until a week from Monday and by then we might be able to see if she's thinking about making an early entrance like her Dad usually does...or be fashionably late like her Mom always is.

We are waiting for the delivery of our new furniture that Curt and I picked out a few weeks before he left for Vegas. Curt loves those antiques so we picked up about 5 pieces in one shot. We're eager to get them to the house because two of them are going into the baby room. I was also looking forward to seeing Curt's reaction to the ever growing mound of clothing that I've collected since he left. He's actually so excited about this baby that I think if told him I bought her a pony he'd be a-ok!

Finally, what's in a name?!?! Curt and I have struggled with this pretty much since we found out I was pregnant. Let me tell you, choosing and agreeing on something has been much more challenging than we thought it would be. So, do we have our hearts set on one? NOPE! We decided that we will go into the room with two and name her once we see her face. Hopefully she will decide for us!

PS: Those of you who are waiting for an e-mail from me will finally get a response this weekend! I know this is totally random but I have about 12 e-mails in my mailbox that all need responses, I'm gettin' there! Once home from work the amount of effort I put into things is extremely limited. Curt has been awesome since he's gotten home so thankfully I've been relaxing a lot more during the evenings!

"Chicken Fried"

So, try not to pay any mind to the title of this song, but Curt is obsessed with it and in turn has made me like it a little bit too. He's finally home and it's the best feeling ever. I can't wait until the rest of our squadron gets home so all my friends can be with their hubby's again. Only a few more weeks!!!

So, just a warning, this song is about as country as it gets. To our military friends, the last verse will warm your heart, I promise. Oh, and it's by the Zac Brown Band. Enjoy!

T - 4 Weeks

Yes, that's right...I am officially 36 weeks pregnant! (OMG) I had a quick check up yesterday and all is well with Mom and Baby. I head back to the Doctor in 2 weeks and then each week after until she arrives. Lots of people are asking, "Are you ready?!?!" to which I always respond, "YES! SO READY!". I can honestly say that the reality of this whole thing still has yet to hit me. Isn't that crazy? I think once she is in my arms and I can breathe that sigh of relief, then and only then will this all become so real.

I haven't got any new belly pictures to post right now because I haven't had the opportunity to ask someone to do it. Curt is home next week (yay!!!) and we will make sure to get some new pictures up as soon as we can. She's still a move and a shaker all throughout the day and she really loves to bee-bop around my stomach somewhere between the lovely hours of 2 and 4 am. :) Is she already beating to the sound of another drum? Maybe...

Finally, I might just be trying to convince myself of this small little fact, but I think she's going to be musically inclined. ;) Whenever I'm driving around and I have my (country!) music on, she's definitely all over the place. I hope I'm right!!!

September Is Here!

I've been so busy this past week it's unreal. I have spent the last 2 days being so unbelievably lazy just catching up on sleep and relaxing in the peace and quiet of my house. Last week was the first full week of school and although it was so wonderful to be busy, it kicked my butt! I was simply exhausted come Friday.
Even though I'm only a substitute I am treating this job as if I weren't going to leave it. Plus, there was no teacher to begin with so all the plans are up to me (which is so great) and that meant working each night until about 5 or 6 pm. Yes, it was a LONG week!

I have a couple things in mind that I want to write about, but lesson plans and laundry are calling my name! Maybe tomorrow...

PS: This is totally random, but I am a die hard fan of the Fall and Winter seasons, so I'm just ecstatic that today is the first day of September. I am here to officially welcome the cooler weather and warmer clothes!
