MORE SHOES?

Yes. More shoes.

I've been on the prowl for some seriously cute and QUALITY cowboy boots for...well...ever. Friends, I think I've found THE pair.

Behold: The Frye Billy Vintage Boot (in Tan).

You see. I need these boots to wear with my shorts when I'm hitting up all the country concerts we're planning on going to this summer! (I'm actually serious... You're in the south, now!) Also, see this outfit Ms. Simpson is wearing? I definitely bought a shirt from F21 last week that is similar to the one she's wearing. I'm not afraid to admit my Jessica-inspired inspiration! Check out my previous post!)

And we have Carrie. Flawless, as always. All I need here is amazing legs and I'll be set! Excuse me while I do about 1,000+ squats.

BUT. Back to the point.

You may have remember that I blogged about some Frye boots around Christmas '09 and I have to say, this brand is still worth every penny. Comfortable, buttery soft leather is what makes Frye boots, AND SANDALS, so irresistible. I still love each and every pair that's sitting in my closet. (4 and counting...)

Not sure what Curt has planned for Mother's Day but you can be sure I'll be planting a few seeds here and there. No worries, he likes the help.

On The Radar

So, this must be a North Carolina thing? Or, maybe just a southern thing? Either way. I'm jumping on the "Boat Shoes" bandwagon.

I think I need a pair of Sperry Top Siders in my closet. I'm seriously due for a new pair of flats. My poor Tory Burch Revas are getting a tad too much wear lately. Plus, I try to save the leather flats for pretty much any season other than summer.

I think this pair might be the winner in my search for new shoes. The "Angelfish" in pink, naturally. I would probably wear them with my cropped boyfriend jeans and even some shorts when it's really warm enough. It must be the eternal prepster in me to love these shoes.

Time to buy!

Ode To Adele

Seriously, you guys. If you haven't given Adele more than a second of your time, DO IT NOW. Such an amazing talent. No studio enhanced garbage to make her sound better than she really is, NONE. She doesn't need it, she's that good. Check her out on YouTube or iTunes. You won't regret it! Her voice is just amazing and soothes the soul.

New Hair?

Yes.

New Hair. (Again.)

Okay, so a couple of weeks ago I took the "ombre plunge" and I honestly love it! However, I only love it when it's wavy or curly. Who has time for this? Not me! Which means my hair is constantly in a pony tail. I know I mentioned this in a couple posts back but I just decided that it's time to go back to brown. (That was money well spent, right?). Although, I'm not going back to my natural color which is a boring "mousy brown". I think a shade or two darker that my natural hue is going to be lots of fun! I actually was a dark brunette when I got married in 2004 mainly because I was coming off of the years and years of overly processed highlights and I knew that I didn't want all my wedding pictures to represent my blonde moment in life. I'm a true brunette and I needed the most cherished pictures I'll ever take to show off the real me.

So, I went to a dark, chestnut brown and it was wonderful!

I'm still looking for the perfect inspirational photo to take to the appointment with me and so far I have a couple. What do you think?

And then there's beautiful Reese from her "Walk the Line" movie sporting the brunette locks. Gorgeous, right? Although it looks like her brown has more of a reddish undertone. I like!

Job Fair

Hey Friends!

If you remember from all my FB posts and maybe a mention or two here on the blog, I had a job fair this past Saturday and I wanted to give you all a quick update. First off, it was my very first job fair so I, naturally, was a little bit nervous when I first arrived. There was only a handful of people waiting to go inside about 15 minutes before it started so I considered it a good thing to be one of the early birds. (PLEASE let that mean I get the worm!!!!!). When the flood gates finally opened, I put on my happiest of faces and I walked up to the very first "Elementary School" table I could find. I did some research online to see if I could learn what to expect at a job fair and even what I should bring, do, wear, etc. Nothing wrong with being prepared! Evidently you're supposed to only visit the tables you're interested in but as far as I'm concerned, I like them all! I just want to go back to work! All in all I felt extremely comfortable going up to each booth I could and basically trying to sell myself to the school. I feel really strongly about my abilities and my love for this job, so it wasn't that hard! I did have one "on the spot" interview and it went really well! I'm heading on over to that school this afternoon to introduce myself to the principal since he wasn't there this weekend. Evidently it's a very large school (ahem, Lakenheath, anyone?) looking to lose TWO KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS to retirement. I mean, really?!? Could this be more perfect for me? Praying, praying, PRAYING that I can score a job in this school. I really haven't stopped thinking about it all weekend.

I left each school with as much information about myself as possible and a huge packet filled with my resume, cover letter, letter of recommendations, test scores, transcripts, and certificates...the works!

And now...we wait! (And follow up, follow up, FOLLOW UP!!!)

A Dinosaur!

Just some daily cuteness for you all. Ava has her very first dance recital coming up in a few weeks and this is her costume! Too cute, right? They are performing to a song called "We Are The Dinosaurs!" and I think it's going to be over the top great. I hope we can get some family members to come down for the big night!

What else is so great about this picture? Just the fact that Ava is wearing pigtails for the first time! I love her.

Phillies Opening Day

Curt has something else checked off his work bucket list! He was asked to do the fly-by for the Opening Day Game of the Philadelphia Phillies this past Friday and it was a-a-a-aaaaamazing to see. What’s really special, obviously, is was able to do this on his own home turf. So many friends and family were able to go to the game AND even watch them from their mile-high sky scrapers right there in the heart of the city. It was a really powerful display of patriotism and strength of our nation as I watched him roar by over head. I’m so thankful I was able to watch him do this! If you see my video on Facebook, you can see (read: HEAR!) how excited I was when they flew by. The other mil wives who’s husbands were also in the formation were right there next to me in the stands and we just cheered and screamed the entire time. We were just so proud of our men! What a great day to be a fighter pilot in the mighty F15-E!!!

OH! And how do you like my shirt?!? It’s a Phillies shirt on the front and on the back with the shirts personalized to say ours hubs’ call sign, making me “Mrs. Cooter”. I wear that name proudly! (Although, it did get some interesting looks from some of our neighbors...) ;) I wish I could have worn this shirt all by itself that day but we woke up to SNOW and it was freeeeezing all day long. Oh well, we made sure they were proudly out for all to see during the fly by.

Finally, the amount of random fans and strangers that stopped to shake their hands as we were walking by and took the time to say “Thank You” was just amazing. It really reminds you of the sacrifice that these guys make on a daily basis in order to maintain our freedom. It was really moving every time they got stopped just for a handshake. There was also a young boy who stopped Curt to tell him, "I want to be a fighter pilot someday!”. What a great feeling to have small kids tell you that you already have their dream job! Which is pretty badass, if I do say so myself. Can you blame them? Overall, this was an amazing experience for Curt. After the 7th inning they were taken down to the field and walked across the bull pen with the Philly Phanatic so they could be introduced and shake lots of hands. Such an honor!

Here are a few pictures of our day! I know one of the girls I was with took A LOT of pics with her Nikon so I’m surely going to borrow those when she sends them to me and post them later. (And, PLEASE, if you ever watch any of the MILLION videos I put on FB, please go watch the Fly By!!! It will give you chills!)

Memory Lane

Every time Curt and I are home together we always make it a big deal to go see one of his oldest friends sing and play guitar. He’s been doing this for almost 15 years and he’s just so talented! He does a lot of his own material and some really great covers. (Zac Brown Band!) Curt was in PA for about 72 hours and we were really happy to go see Steve do what he does best! We spent so many weekends going to watch him play when we were dating in high school and college. It just brings back some great memories of Curt and I: the early years.

Oh, and as you see in the post above, Curt did the fly by for the Phillies the day before and when we walked into the Brewery where Steve was playing he STOPPED what he was doing to make sure the whole place (which was packed...) knew that he was one of the pilots who zipped by the stadium in an F15-E before the game. There was some serious cheers and clapping to follow. Awesome!

Ava and AJ: Spring 2011 Photos

I’ll just let the pictures do the talking. Grandma Quigley bought the kids some new outfits and took them out to meet the Easter Bunny and get their pictures professionally taken. I wish I had some behind the scenes video footage. Trying to get two 2-year olds to cooperate and take pictures TOGETHER is next to impossible. Alone? No problem! Together? Yikes.

Oh, and for your viewing pleasure, here’s a shot with the Easter Bunny. Yes, they were screaming before they even sat on her lap.

AND, the yearly freak out with the Easter Bunny. We have an almost identical picture of Ava and AJ from last years encounter with the Easter Bunny. In their defense, it’s head is HUGE and those teeth? My goodness. Hopefully they’ll get a good laugh out of this someday!
